What does it mean to be faithful?

Our responsibility as parents is to be faithful. What does that mean? Hebrews 3:1-2 says to “fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house” (NIV). But, even that isn’t enough. In 1 Corinthians 13:3, it tells us if we do all that—but without love—“we gain nothing” (ESV). It’s easy to focus so hard on “the prize,” but fail at loving our kids—especially when our older kids are making poor life choices. How can we lead them anywhere? What do we do? Love the things of God, but love our kids—no matter their spiritual walk—and let the Holy Spirit do His work.
